reminds me of the old pioneer truck that first got me into car stereo's. there was a VL turbo on the dyno at autosalon 2000 that made plenty of noise with full open throttle. put my head over the tray of the pioneer truck (4 rows, 5 subs per row, each 12" sub) and couldn't hear anything but bass. drowned EVERYTHING out...

yer, pretty sure thats the one. they've re-designed it now with motorized amp racks in the middle

at the moment, we've got the alpine demo car right near my work. new little demo car, i think its a ford fiesta (kitted out with 17" chromies, decals etc). boys at GCR telling they spent $70k on the install. 3 X 15" type R subs in the back in fibreglass box, 2 X MR1000D's, splits front and rear, amps sunk into the footwells up front. full AV setup... its LOUD as... makes our entire shop resonate something chronic!

its funny tho, cos i can't really *see* $70k there... maybe $15k...

no wonder that cadence van goes dead so quickly,

full noise the thing draws 2350 amps.

To put in perspective, thats 23.5 times more current than a regular single phase house capable of drawing.
(normal house only capable of drawing around 100amps before it trips out)

30,800 watts, thats equal to the power used by 616 downlights.

my GOD!@ this sought of thing is exciting for an electrician :D
