My EA was wearing out front tyres in less than 20000 k's..
I was told by the guy who does the front end alighning at the local tyre place that either type of adjuster is easy to work with.. but the shim ones lock up better.. meaning the cam types ones can slip if not really tight (as someone mentioned)

The prices I got about 12 months ago were about $170 for shim types (2 kits) and $270 for cam types.
Be aware prices are often quoted per side.. $85/kit and you need two kits.

So I found a set of the adjustable shim types on a wreck at the self serve wreckers.. 4 brackets and a heap of shims for $25.
I don't know the brand but they had nylothane bushes in them, the original ones i took out of my car had rubber bushes.

It took an hour or so to get them off the wreck with a mates help and an afternoon to fit them on my car (with same mate and a few beers)..
Two new tyres and a $35 alighnment done by the guy who advised me originally, and twelve months and 25000 k's later the tyres are wearing much more evenly than before and look like lasting at least another 25 thou or more.

I cant see why you'd pay the extra for cam type adjusters unless you found them cheap at a wreckers.

XCH45R I had the mechanic put mine in when i had the car lowered. It doesnt look hard to do but you will still need the wheel alignment and only they know what size shims to use..

Adjustable ones don't move as long as they are done up tight by hand. Not hard to install, just make sure you use a rattle gun or torque wrench when bolting it to the arms.

the ford bloke to me all they are are longer bolts,,take one bolt out and get the longer ones,,any suspension place will sell them

went down to jax and they quoted me $300 installed......
