How much would a single stainless 3" exhaust be from the cats back?
I've got ELGT headers and its already got a mild steel 3" system on it but I want a stainless system. Gonna get an oval chrome tip on it too. Its probably going to be over $1000 isnt it? |

Cat back, including the cat (I think thats what you mean - you would have to go up to at least a 2.5" cat for a 3" pipe) probably $1200-$1500.
I asked out of interest how much to get my system fully replaced (it is twin 3") and they said about $3k.. so I assume half for a single. |

s**t thats a fair bit for an exhaust. I might leave it then until my exhaust gets a hole in it or corrodes through.
Spend the money now on manifold and heads. Cheers Kurt |

A half decent mild steel system should last around 5 years. Sure stanless will last 10+years but its damn expensive and only really waranted if you plan on keeping you car for ages. As you said, better to spend the money on manifold or heads, or look at replacing the EL GT headers (they aren't bad, but still no where near the potential of aftermarket ones).

ELGT headers dont look like they are worth spending the extra money to get Pacemakers the power difference would be bugger all. If they were stock headers I'd do it.
The car I've got I plan to keep for a very very very long time. Unless no one buys my Fairmont in which case I have to let it go. |

I know someone (Spider_GT's Dad) who currently has one of the last EL XR8s from factory. This means that he got some of the ELGT parts including the extractors. He changed his extractors over to Genie's and noticed a huge improvement in performance over the ELGT headers.
That isn't to say that the ELGT headers are bad, they s**t all over the stock 165kw ones, but they are a 4>1 design and the primaries aren't very long at all..

So how much are extractors for a Windsor? Pacemakers of course. Maybe Di Filippo's.
I would only get 1 of those headers. Probably Paceys because they are more cost effective. |

I have paceys on my EF. They seem to do the job, but can't comment on power difference because they were on the car when I bought it.
