I have to agree with the others. My electronic key is starting to fail, so I tried the manual key and had the same starting problems. Yet when I let the ignition sit for 2 to 3 seconds it started without hesitation. Maybe the fuel pump is your problem.

because with older cars comes wearand tear. the ringsarnt sealing as well as they used toso when you leave your car overnight the fuel in the cyl. leaks past the rings and into the oil. as for starting the car before the fuel pump shuts off is that you have no/little fuel in the cyl. and bugger all press. in the rail.

funny thing is, on mine if i do a full ignition turn in the morning when the pressure has had time to relieve it'l start perfectly sometimes and hesitate other times. Sometimes i just turn the car off and a minute later turn it back on and it'l do it, its really random.. dunno if that can be explained by fuel pump
