Question about fitting rear end into a 1969 XW......

i have a 9inch LSD disc brake rear end out of an 1980 FC LTD.

seeing as it is 2 inches wider than the 9inch of the XW day, what work is required to get it to fit, if possiable? and what kind of suspension/driveline mods will i have to undertake?

would it be worth fitting, or should i either get an original XW 9inch or cut this one down to size ?

hopefully someone who has explored this option can give me some advice

FC ltd never came out with a 9" diff xc was the last of them after that they went to a 28spline borg warner with the 351
i would assume someone has fitted a xb or xc one.
the diff will bolt straight into your xw.
most xw-xy's that are around have got xa-c diffs in them nowdays
you just need to be a bit careful on the rear tyre size

tyre width shouldnt be any more of an issue than if the diff was the stock width, just get a pair made up in an offset to match the wider diff
