Next step is probably a nice exhaust or stage 2 stereo.

I have had my battery disconnect numerous times, for hours, and sometimes days, it never made the slightest difference when i drove it again, in town or on the hway, fuel consumption was no better, no worse, i sometimes wonder about this resetting ECU bizzo, is there any hard evidence, to say doing it is a must?

it probably didn't make much of a change because you didn't do any mods for the ECU to relearn

Take the negative of the battery for a hour or so don't forget to re-learn the computer properly. Idle in P for 2 min, idle in D for 2 min ,then repeat
and don't forget to re-learn the BTR auto if equipped ,after that you will need to turn ign off for 10 min then idle in D for at least 1min, then turn off engine ,instantly turn ign to on without engine running ,select D then hold throttle on full for at least 1 min then put in park & turn ign off for 2 min.

Hope this helps
