Hey, It's been awhile since I've posted here, but rest assured, I'm back & here to stay. I'm just wondering what the differences between some of the T5 Manual transmissions are, for example, whats the difference between the T5 used in a late XF, compared to the T5 used in an EA? is there any difference between an EA one and an EF/EL one? What about XR6 & XR8 models? What are the strengths and weaknesses of the T5, and what can be done to beef it up? How much do they cost to rebuild, and is it worth doing anything to the gearbox for a mild application?

I dunno, possbily a bit of headwork, a mild cam, extractors, cold air induction and a 2.5" exhaust

they all have same internals just mounting points and bell housing may be different i do know that ed has t5 will fit on a au motor but 2 lower bolts dont line up and v8 t5 has different bell housing and different ratio t5 will be fine for wat you want but clutching them every were will eventually f**k it with time like and box that aint a tremec

also XF(t5)/EA/EB's had a 3.5 first gear, whereas EBII and onwards had 3.25.
the EA boxes had a 3 bolt clutch, whereas the EBII and onwards had a 6 bolt clutch.(stronger) The XF T5's are the same as used in the EA's. XR6 were the same as the normal falcon 6 T5's, and the XR8's were the same as the V8 falcon T5's. They cost quite a bit to rebuild, and Im sure they can be strengthened, but for a mild application, they should handle it stock if you can drive it properly. As for strengths and weaknesses, the T5's aren't the greatest box, they are "crunchy" and not as smooth as some jap boxes, they don't handle THAT much power, but on the upside, they are cheap. Cheers

EB XR8sprint and GT had a stronger version of the T5
