I am hoping someone can diagnose this problem for me. Ive got a squeeking noise coming from the front left of the car when im driving. Recently it seems likes it has subsided a bit (maybe just because of the new exhaust). Anyway I turn everything down so i can hear, and when i tug the wheel to the right i can here the squeek. Also i cant here the sound with the brakes applied if that counts for anything. Could it be bearings or something else?
Any help would be greatly appreciated |

Also have the same problem in my EA. The front left does it, has done for quite some time. The front right also does it occasionally but compared to the left hand side is very quiet.

Could be bearings but u wouldnt think so since the sound disapates under brakes.
Make sure there is no play in the brake calliper or the pinions on top of the calliper

Yeah should be ok...might squeaking in the front right wheel comes from a minute abount of play in the sliding rack pinion in the brake callipper and ive been driving it like that for 3 months now and no hassles also the noise hlevel hasnt increased so im in no hurry to replace or have it fixed just yet

Check the stabiliser bar just up from the D bushes for rubbing on the chassis. will be easier to jack up the front.

it could still be your bearings arent adjusted right may be a bit loose and when you turn in a certin direction it tilts the discs and it rubs on the caliper bracket or something because thats what happened with my old laser. but i would still check all suspension components and check the rack and tie rod ends and stuff just to be sure.
