Just a quick question regarding the pros and cons of diferent Ohms. I have 2 12" Rockwood 300wrms Dual Voices. They can run 4, 6 and 8 from memory and was interested in the differnce(if any)between 2, 4 and 8 Ohms?

You can get more power at a lower resistance with amplifiers if they can do the lower resistance...

If they are DVC subs then id say that they are 8 ohm coils, run 1 sub with the coils in parrallel and you will get a 4 ohm load. Run 2 of them together all in parrallel and you will get a 2 ohm load...

yeah i cant remember how i've wired them up now...ive the diagram at home somewhere, ill find it and post it up. i think im running 2 ohms atm..

as a rule, the lower the impedance (ohms) the lower the SQ (as the amp has less control over the signal it puts out, and therefore less control over the sub/speaker)

generally it isnt much of an issue with subs tho

Exactly so to where your aiming either SPL (sound Pressure Level) or SQ (Sound Quality) will determine what you should run. But in this case just go as low as your amp/s will allow u too - so run the 2 in parrallel for a 2 ohm load.....also what amp/s are u running or going to run them off and if anything else is going to be attached to those amps.....just considering bridging options also
