hey all i nee your help becuase i stretched the spring on my mirror and it needs replacing and i was wondering how do oyu remove the lense to put a new spring in or is there a easy way to do it?? thankyou for help

You can't remove the lens. You will most-likely need to get a whole new unit.

ahh crap that sux a**, we will have to find another to way to replace the spring then or might even upgrade to ef/el mirrors how hard is that

You can pull out jus the glass, some one did it to mine in a carpark!! Easiest way to do it i found was to just buy a whole new mirror. FTG sell them brand new for not too much. I *think* ford sells just the lens itself, so you have to be able to take it out... |

ford dont sell the glass for late eb-ed. only early ones and then ef onwards

If its an EF/EL they are all power mirrors. The lense which is attatched to a plastic backing can be removed. You have to unclip the centre pivot point from the assembly itself by pulling from the outside of the mirror lense with some force but not twisting as the glass with break. The are 2 orange or yellow pin looking things that may pull out also, they are for the adjustment and simply push back in to assembly before fitting the new lense. The lense has a block at the rear which can be unclipped if needed.
My lense was smashed and got a second hand one from the wreckers for $10 but had to get it from a car with a broken assembly. |
