Hey all,

Just wandering, if i were getting a BA 6 from the auction's (xt or xr6), and putting in the turbo later, would it work out cheaper than just buying an xr6t or should I not bother mucking around.

dont bother mucking around and just get the xr6t. if ur looking at doing something major like a bigger turbo or a fast 11 second car then maybe look at gettin the standard xr6 but just be prepared for a s**t of work

plus instead of having to get a mod plate for a turbo on a NA XR6, the bigger turbo kit on an XR6T would just be an upgrade

yeh i suppose, i guess my main concern was to get a turbo later when the insurance would'nt be quite so high but at least it will save alot of hassles. Apart from the turbo itself, what other changes have to be made to the N/A engine to make it work?

Alot cheaper mate getting the xr6T straight up. Anything that is mass produced is gonna be sold cheaper than straight models and then adding the options yourself.

Plus these are built off the shelf to work....you could turbo it yourself and deciding how extreme u go could run in to all kinds of dramas.

Get the Xr6T and depending on your budget check out the APS (Air power systems) stage 1-4 kits. Eevn consider a XR8 with their new Twin turbo kits :P

an edit, bigger injectors and a big intercooler would see u into the 11s anyway.... i have seen just an edited car run a high 12...

i would say just get the XR6T first, save u money in the long run...
