After having a fitting on the gas converter break and leak water i decided to do a cooling system flush
I added 5 lts of Nulon coolant after i flushed the whole system and some water. Drove it for about 20 minutes then added water to top it up What i am wondering is that it runs a little hotter now than it did. (Water was brown with a tinge of green previously) The hottest it gets is about 1/2 temp. Is this ok? OR have i done something when flushing it? PS - It used to sit about quarter |

if it doesn get higher than that i wouldnt worry about it. but coming into summer it may. usually when u clean out ur cooling system and it hasnt been done for a while, anything that was on its last legs eg water pump thermostate ect will go after u have clean it out, well most of the time

yep have a thermo on the front
Someone told me to take the thermostat out during summer - Is this a good idea as i thought it would only move the water around to quick so it would not cool |

Ive heard similar things and come to the same conclusion, mine sits at just a smidge off over heating almost all the time (thats when the thermos come in) and its never given me dramas since the thermos went in, I wouldnt worry bout it.

i drilled a few holes around my thermostat better then removing it and i have a 16in davis graig that does a pretty good job of keepinf it cool. but i am fitting a reverse bonnet scoop to let the heat out also

Another thing i noticed too is that the engine does not have an air bleed for the cooling system on it or am i not looking hard enough?

just run it will the cap off untill all the bubbles are gone it is the highest piont in the motor so all the air should go there then take it for a run let it cool down and check the water again
