since i've been driving my ef, a slight knock comes from the front end.
It's weird, sometimes it will be as i change gears, and other times it will be when i hit small bumps.

The bottom ball joints are definitely crook, the rubber boot around them is pretty much destroyed, so that is my first guess.

The shocks/springs in it aren't even 1000km old, so definitely not those.
any other ideas?

If the ball joints are gone replace them, also check the tie rods and rack ends for wear. A simple test is to move the steering wheel back and forth with engine running and check for play and knocking in these joints. Rack ends are around $50 a set from Bursons compared to $54 each from FRAUD.

The lower control arm bush at the front can be a problem as well. My auto gearbox cooler was leaking and as a result the fliud destroyed the right front bush on the control arm. I get a knock every now and then from this. Gotta get around to fixing it some time
