ANYTHING can be made to fit..... just ask Rod Hadfield.......
the short answer is no, the 460 wont go into an EL and be street legal without a LOT of time, effort, and considerable amounts of cash.....

But yeah the answer is no, can be done but for the same price you could be smarter and get a much better result is a newer engine.

460's were still produced up untill the late 90's to fit in the bigger F trucks (F 350 and F 650). The later engines have EFI. If you can find one of those then I don't see why its impossible to do the conversion legally.

Why go that route, World make a 351 stroked to 460. It is the same deminsions as a 351W and would sit nicely in there. If you didtnt tell anyone, you could register it as a 351. The NSW RTA formula for engine size to weight works out i can legally run a 480cube motor in my fairmont for the weight.

Now thats thinkin Marty. But they have an even tighter bay than an EL. But rego would be less of a hassle

Brett The rod/strpoke ratio in that thing would be bloody awfull to say the least. You'd be pretty lucky to get 50,000kms out of that thing without flogging it. |
