hi all.
i sold a friend of mine an Xf Ghia 6 cyl, recently. and a while ago when my car was parked next to it, i woundered would the xh ute front fit on a xf sedan body. from what ive seen it would. i think an el xr front in an xf would look prity good, better yet i've never seen one before. my friend likes the idea as well. so would it work???

just an idea.

As far as I know Ford spent a large chunk of money developing the XH ute from the previous models, you could fit it, but it wouldn't be a straight bolt off the old and on with the new I guess. Same as fitting EF/EL fronts to EA-ED.

I think it would look a little odd, square back, rounded front!

you COULD do it, but as mentioned, it's not bolt-on, bolt-off.
There is alot more to it, just look at each cars radiator support.

I have seen this done, there was on ebay awhile back a XD ute with a 351 on duel fuel and it was painted in the BA blueprint and it had a XH XR8 ute front end on it. If u ask me it just looked like a XH. But it would b pretty sweet havin ppl thinkin u have a XH XR8 with a old skool 351.

there was a purple xd wagon up here on the coast a couple of years ago with an ef xr front on it. it looked pretty sweet and got me thinking about my ghia wagon, but after much thought, imo the xf front at the right height is still 1 of the toughest looking fords around.

my friend got turned off the idea, at around a grand for the front, not including gaurds. plust the cost of all the welding. he thinks the moneys better spent going and handling better.

if any of you have photos of one i'dd like to see one.
