bug has bit again and for the first time in a while i got some $$ to spend on a kit.
i'm looking for kits for my eb ghia. the xrgt bar looks nice but with the cost of the xr lights seems a bit steep for the front end, i wanna get skirts and rear to... another problem is all the places i've found are interstate(not vic) and i don't want to cop the postage, looking to be $200+. does any one have any info on where to get a kit in melb. not gt. the sony scorcher kit look ideal. i'm sure i've hurd the el skirts line up with early e series. true? also does any one have an idea of cost to get a ba kit made up?(ballpark) cheers, JB. |

I love Brock Ford Bodykits
The Original Brock body kits, inc. front and rear spoilers and side skirts, were manufactured by Paul Trani at Ezi Glass Pty Ltd. Who i believe still has all the original moulds. Ezi Glass Pty Ltd, 5 Lewis St, Coburg North. VIC. 3058 Tel: (03) 9354 1171 Fax: (03) 9354 0561 Web-Site: None at present! E-mail: None at present! Not sure on the price but aftermarket ones typically go for around $1,200 for a full kit. But that doesn't have the original sideskirts or rear wing. typically has the sprint side skirts and a boot mounted (munted) rear wing. I hate legged wings, YUK. I have yet to find out what he charges, found this info from http://www.geocities.com/brock_fords/suppliers.html and look here for an idea of what the kit looks like http://www.geocities.com/brock_fords/gallery.html Look here for a couple of pics if the site is down as they have bandwidth limits. http://www.fordmods.com/forums/gallery. ... I fitted the scorcher kit to mine. It doesnt use or need side skirts as the front and rear bar follow the lines of the original. Easily the best looking kit IMO and cheap when you consider I spent $1000 on purchase and painting (I fitted them myself). When you consider $200 for shipping, $1200 aint that bad.

Personally it is just what you like, the Schorcher rear bar looks sweet, but the front bar looks a bit to VY clubsport on VN Commie, if you know what i mean. probably more suited to the EF EL Falcon then the lines of the EA-ED.

How does this look even remotely like a VN - VY commodore?

It was an example.
Looks too rounded for the shape of the falcon to me. But each to their own. Look at the bottom center section. It doesn't quite match the shape of the car. the outer edges, i would agree match a standard bar from the front angle. But the center section looks like it should be on a more rounded car like an EF-L, as it would tie in with the shape better. Just something looks off, to me. Personal choice really. What looks good to someone will look bad to someone else. |

cheers for the replies..
the brock kit has aged to much for me, the scorcher kit is a nice kit and i think suits an early e-series thats been modded in the late 90's. so updates the car a bit but not over the top, stretches the cars life span a bit, i like that. but then you have the gt kit. allways wanted one when i was 15ish... but thats been over done IMO. what i'm really after is some thing not over done, scorcher kit from what i understand isn't even close to common. i kinda want skirts aswell... SETON005: are the scorcher kits any lower than stock bars? it's just i would like skirts, but if the bar is a little lower than stock or the same than skirts would look weird. aswell can anyone tell me if el skirts fit up to ea-ed? cheers JB. |

EL Skrits will fit an EB.
if u were going skirts with the scorcher kit i'd say something very subtle as the scorcher kit is similarly sized to the original bars.

I have super lows and actually scrape less with the scorcher bar than I did with the standard. And side skirts would not go with the scorcher kit as it follows the same lines as standard.
