The EL GT exhaust is the exact unit on the FBT as stock; only difference is that the FBT has a ~6" insert between the cats and the GT exhaust.

Same extractors, mufflers, tips, pipes, everything, cept ~6" longer with the insert.

fair enough. interesting that they did that. as far as I know all other LWB's got a different exhaust tailpipe to the SWB version.

I think it made perfect sense really, the LWB is exactly same as SWB under there other than slight length increase in certain part.. Be much more cost efficient to use the SWB zorsts n use extension pipe like the did on FBT..

And the fbt only got it due to it being gt spec. if it were xr8 spec i guess it'd get a xr8 one.. etc

The FBT has a different tail pipe section to a GT also, the FBT has an extra muffler/resonator in it, also is probably a bit longer didn't have both to compare though.

The tail pipe has a NLTVE part number. Where as the rest is GTTVE, or AUTVE as I am pretty sure it is the same centre section as an AU XR8.

From what i could see its the same all the way thru; t had the middle small muffler i think? If not thats the small difference.

I am pretty sure that the extra muffler in the tailpipe is the only difference also. It makes the car a little quieter than a GT but I think that it makes it a little deeper too.

The extra muffler and therefore different part number gives ford a licence to up the price even more for parts since the car was the most expensive in the Ford range in 1998.

I am hoping to come along to the all ford day ( I missed last years one), but I won't know if I am working that weekend until closer to the date. If I get the opportunity to come along I will defiiately bring the FBT. Otherwise I am contemplating going along on the xmas cruise to philip island.
