the el turned off twice for no reason,
first: 80k road turning right so brake hardish into the median strip and car just turned off so i quickly fired it up and it went upto 2000rpm and then off again so i turned it over again with the accelerator stuck in at about 2500rpm constant this time it idled and drove like nothing happened. second: take off at round about, double lane then merge into one, get too 70km/h then lift off accelartor as idiot wouldn't giveway in right hand side and the engine wouldn't pickup any revs and took about 30 seconds off mashing the pedal to get it going again, car never turned off just didn't accelerate. what is my problem? on petrol, gas has a little water leak. sorry for long post.

hey msnman,
my EL's doing something pretty similar, started about a week ago. Took it back to the mechanic and he said it needs the petrol/gas recalibrated as I've jsut had some major head work done it. The place they've recommended has like a 6 week wait atm, so I'm looking forward to more carking outs at inoppurtune moments. |

i dont know about gas set ups, but when my EB was doing this (or similar) it was the fuel pump dieing. check fuel filter aswell.

does not matter how old the filter is you only need one tank of dirty fuel and it will be blocked!!!!

Blocked fuel filter would be a constand problem, not an intermittent problem and would rear its ugly head more in the upper RPM band where the fuel demand is higher. |
