A mate following me on Friday night noted that my brake lights wouldn't go off (even when I didn't have my foot on the brake). I started my car up today and walked around to the back of the car and low-and-behold, my brake lights were on, even when I didn't even apply the brakes. I suspect that my brake switch has given up the ghost. Is this a fair assumption? And where is the brake switch located?

thanks for that. I'll check it out tommorow. BTW its got those duel element globes. Could this also be the reason my cruise control speed won't set?

It most crertainly would. Since cruise control should disengage when you apply the brake, if your brake switch is always engaged then it would stop you from setting the cruise control. I had this problem in my old EB, it was just the brake switch, |

definitely. The brake light switch is wired to switch off the cruise control,so, if your brake switch is always closed, it will stop the cc from being set.
