I own a 1991 Fairmont Ghia with power external rear view mirrors. I need to be able to access the inner workings of the mirror - not the electrical components, but the mechanicals in behind the actual mirror itself. How can I remove the mirror glass so I can access the "workings" of the mirror. The reason is because its movement is jerky and noisey. I believe that either the little cogs if they exist are damaged or there is a lot of dust inside the mirror casing.
