What stuff have yuo dnoe in an audio sense that techncally is not correct or not ideal and yet the results have been good.

Amp abuse
I had a mate who installed a cheap 2 channel (2 x 40rms type) amp underneath the parcel shelf upside down and bridged running at 2ohm load on 2 x 12’s subs on full gain all day and lasted for 12months with no problems and he took it out and gave it to me.
I installed it in a little system I did for fun running a single 10â€￾ the right way up with plenty of ventilation + cooling fan on it at 4ohm and it lasted 4 weeks and then developed a fault which cost me $40 to get fixed… LOL

Speaker Placement
The winner of last years National CAASQ pro class trophy had midrange/midbass speakers low in his doors firing straight across the car and tweeters right up on the leading edge of the dash and should have had quite noticeable separation issues.
The separation was certainly noticeable and evident but outweighed by the fact that he had really good imaging and staging and hence won the National title as well as most of the years events.

Sub selection and midbass intergration
My SQ system. I had a single 15â€￾ sub and an SPL built monoblock running it and everyone said you should have class A/B and a smaller sub to blendwith my front stage 6.5â€￾ drivers. I scored high all season for midbass and sub-bass and won the National Title.

I’m not saying any of the above couldn’t have been improved upon but at the end of the day on paper people would say they were well and truly less tan ideal and in reality they worked very well.

I fit some Infinity 6x9s under my parcel shelf a while back - I couldn't get them aligned or secured perfectly, but they pumped harder than my mates' systems (ie. Alpine system with 10/12" sub, another friend with Kenwood 7x10s - absolutely terrible). I even had people looking for subs hehehe.

i had 20 dollar 'reactor' 6x9's in custom holes in my old car, which wernt screwed in properly, hooked up 2 an amp i obtained from cash converters with some rather horrid 10g wire running around the outside of the car for it cos i had a lack of knowledge about the firewall :P and how to go thru it, but for a system that cost me less then 100 it distorted like crazy :D and sounded truely horrible :D i was pleased :P....... never doing it again :D
