Gday all
been noticing my brakes have been getting a nasty clunyk sound when i apply them going around corners and slowing down to a stop. They seem to be getting worse as well causing the car to tramline under normal braking. only thing i can think of that its the sliding calipers jamming when releasing from the rotors, but thats an un-educated guess as i dont know much about brake setups. oh yeah its a 94' fairlane cheers in advance NC

sure its not bushes that are warn making noise, like compression strut bushes or ball joint even. brakes dont usually make a clunk noise unless some thing is really loose or failed

could be the pads,i cant recall the last time i changed them.
Its more of a popping sound come to think of it,it does it reversing, around corners and braking slowly(gentle pressure).

Clunk? Like a crack sort of noise? I had a clunk coming from both wheels about 6 weeks ago it was really bad when I turned and braked. Turns out it was the upper control arm bushes, they were non existent. This caused the top of the wheel to have in & out movement causing the noise.
