ok i managed to do one side of my rear brakes on my ebxr6 my step father with his mechanical wisdom beat the piston back down with a hammer, i didnt like this so in an attempt to find a better way i pumped the piston all the way out of the caliper it then fell off (ooooh f**k i said i bet that wasnt meant to happen) so now i have a better understanding of how thw whole thing works but its in pieces... is there a quick easy fix for this or do i just take it to a brakes place and copp the bill... is it more dificult because of the abs as the front ones were piss easyt as they didnt screw out....thanks

well the eb's have a wind in piston...

u need a tool that goes on a ratchet that is then mounted on the piston and u screw it back in

u should see this with the other piton that has come out..

dont worry about it u just reasmble it and u will need to bleed the brakes afterwards thats all.

cool and where may i find this tool of which you speak? ive just been f**k around with it for a while and ive got the dust boot back on and the piston part way in just by screwing it by hand and as it got tighter i used 2 screwdrivers for leverage which worked well until part way down it stoped winding in and then just sat there and spun on the spot.... do i need to apply pressure while winding down or somthing?

He is talking about a brake piston wind back tool. You can do it with a hammer, alloy drift, and some big blade screwdrivers if you know what you are doing. Just make sure the piston notch limes up with the tab on the brake pad.

ahhhhh i see got it. f**k i was wondering why the pads wernt siting properly, a simple thing i over looked.

make sure pads are sitting flat on piston, if not they will leave smoke trail after bout 15k's of driving. I have done quite a few rear pads and still get caught out. get the torch out and stick ya head right in there and visually check. just half a mm out and they will start smoking.
