gday,

when i start my car cold, it seems to idle fairly rough until it warms up a bit. I dont know if this is a normal thing or what but it gives me the s**t.

Starts up and goes to bout 750rpm then drops down to bout 350-400rpm, and does that continually, up and down up and down till it warms up a bit. If i dont keep it revving for a minute or two it will sometimes stall.

Is there any easy way to fix this or do i need a proper tune up, as the RACV check i got done on the car when i bought it reckons it is misfiring on idle, and a tune up is needed. I remember a few people talkin a while back about the idle valve being dirty, could this be the problem?

Cheers, Luke.

If the RACV said that it's misfiring on idle, the misfire could be caused by a few different things, including:
- leads
- plugs
- injectors

These are a good first few things to check (and change if they haven't been changed in a while). My car is also misfiring at idle (as well as 100% of the rest of the time! lol) - just haven't gotten around to looking at the problem yet!
