I have a 400M 6.7 litre ford big block engine that is about to be built with big cam, ported heads, and all the other goodies. and i am now seriously looking at the idea of selling my engine to go a 250 straight gas turbo setup instead.
im just after what you guys think? the 400 is goin to be insane for torque and burnout ripping power, however i feel the turbo 250 would be awesome aswell, and i have seen a few fast 250's getting around these days.

Go the Big Block Ford.
That kinda torque would be insane.
Go the 8.

i had a 460ci stroked to 510ci with a 671 blower.
that was fun, just i couldnt justify $320p/w on fuel to drive it 2 work :)

you can always go the big block and later on you could supercharge or turbo it

nah the car wont be a daily driver, the odd weekend/ summernats and random car show car. i was considering turboing the big block, but it has been built for highish compression with the cam and heads, so if i keep it, it will stay NA. another reason for the turbo option is to be a little different as all the old girls up here are 8s, and id like to have a taste of a turbo 250.

Remember this..

There is NO substitute for cubic inchs. I'd go the bigblock.. :) 250T might be quicker, but you'll never regret the ground rumbling bigblock sound! lol not to mention the torque.. got any pics of this big block???

well the fairmont is already on gas so the 400 will be on gas if i still go with it. yeah the 400 is basically a clevo with a 1inch taller deck height, but it is still classed as a bigblock. for me thats awesome because to the untrained/ average person you pretty much cannot tell them apart in the engine bay. im stuck in the middle with this, as the V8 will be mean and sound tough as the fords do, but i love turbo'd engines, and if the 250 blows up, i can get another one from the tip for 100 bucks? ill have to do more research into the turbo 6.

ps if i do want to sell the 400 who would be interested in it?!
i have custom extractors/ y pipe and 3 inch exhaust to go with the package, as well as engine mounts, and a custom bellhousing to use a C4 auto.

too many choices! i have been thinking of even putting a newer 6 cyl from and el or au if i go turbo, as engineering it shouldnt be an issue on gas. ill keep researching and see what happens.
thanks for the replies too
