is there an easy/cheap way of upgrading its rating eg
approx cost of rewing and what can it be wound 2?

also were to get larger one it is for car audio so high amps at 2000rpm would be nice

U wont need it as ve been saying in your car audio thread....if u have a decent supply of power your system will run fine.

EF alternators i think were round the 10-110 amp mark....there are no suppliers of alternators in australia locally that will give you anything substantially better.

Delcon make one that fits with small mods but im not sure what has to be done or what its ratings are....stinger also dfoes a 350amp alternator but do order one in will cost u close to or over 2 grand.

My audio setup includes 6 amps 4 12" subs 3 batteries 1 25 farad cap and 3 component speaker packs...neon car kit , 300w inverter with a tv and xbox and my 110amp stock alternator runs fine.

So long as you arent running it hard at shows solely off the batteries or when your almost home from cruising with the music loud just turn the volume down or off like 2 mins from home for it to recharge the cells.

If you are really serious bout competition and the car running for a while then at the show just pay for a power outlet and have your gear setup to run off that...can even go 3 phase if u want

yea i will be running a large battery 25 or 40 farad cap
but my amp pulls over 4500wrms an dtaht just for the sub an di wnatto get another one making it 9000wrms to teh sub

what type of amp and sub combo are you going to be running?

DD 9915 dueal .5 ohms and an earthquake phd5000w running 4500wrms 1 ohm

1 ohm? isnt that pretty low for running speakers/sub?

nah one or .5 ohms is fine so longs as the gear is rated to handle that consistently and stable ...same with the amp itself

no all the high db subs run lower ohm coils bassicly less restance = more power


does any one have the forumla to work out my amps draw in amps/ oh and how efficient is digital amps
