Rolling the inner, and sometimes outer, edge of the guards out to get more wheel clearance.

Slightly OT, but I have 17x8's and super lows in my car and never had a tyre touch the guard. I've been on some seriously bumpy roads and had my trailer light socket torn off from touching the ground a high speeds, but never any guard clearance issues.

For adelaideans I highly recommend Aurora springs aka Industrial Springs on Port Road
According to a friend of mine who knows them well, they make springs for pedders and can either reset your current springs or supply new ones to your specification at far lower pricing than going to a suspension retail outlet

It's all about matching the dampers with the springs (rates)
Polyurethane/Nolethane bushes are harsher than heavy duty rubber but make for a sharper ride

Shop around, go to the state distributor of the dampers/springs you want as you will most likely pay wholesale pricing
