I start by removing the ash tray and then remove the screws.
The dash is held in by 2 screws below the h/u nera the ash tray, 3 screw above the cluster and 1 screw either side the streeing wheel. Once the screws have been removed the dash will lift out, the top is held in by clips. Once the clips are undone the wiring linking the buttons and/or trip computer can be unplugged. U should now have easier access to the stereo unit. LN I have an after market h/u so i am not 100% sure how to get the stock out.
