Hey guys, rifling through my shed today, and found an ecu, part number 90DA-12A650-BE. the funny part is, that its actually housed in an ea style casing, not the newer eb ser2 onwards roundish casing. So i thought maybe its a non smartlock 4l ecu, so put it in my car (ser1eb non smartlock), and what do ya know it starts/runs fine. I always thought that they never existed, btw for comparison i do have a 4l smartlock ecu aswell part no. 90DA-12A650-BF

the only difference i see is the last letter, what the denotes i have nfi

the only other thing that i can notice that majorely differs from both, apart from the part numbers, and casing, is the efi tag

non smartlock = EFI-SD153
smartlock = EFI-SD253

Also the big letters on the top of the label, non smartlock =ODBE and smartlock = ODBF, again the two different letters in the part numbers. Have i found a rarity, or have i totaly lost the plot?

cheers

chris

i thought eb series one was still the 3.9 engine, i have a non smartlock eb2 aswell, so it mite be a pre smartlock 4l eb 2 ecu ... just a thought
