Just got back from a trip to Brisbane and noticed a fuel smell on and off through out the trip :? . It seems to only come on when air con is on AIR MAX and recirculating air in cabin. Any ideas on what it might be???

Yes but No, I did fill up the 3 times it happened BUT it didn't start smelling until 100 to 200 kms after.

Check the hoses on your charcoal canistor under the front left gaurd, makesure the two hoses are connected.

Check the purge solenoid valve hoses which sits behind the throttle body(left off the airbox and has two hoses connected to it). Makesure they haven't come off the intake plenium and the valve itself.

The purge solenoid is about the size of a C cell battery with a 2 wire plug

This is from an EB falcon haven't checked my EL if it is in different spot?

I had a mate suggest that it could be a hole in fuel line or leaking injector. He thought it would have to be in engine bay for smell to be geting into air con. What are your thoughts??
