hey whats the cheapest mods you can do to 302 cleveland that wil add power and also what are some of the more expensive mods that add power. trying to find what mods are should i do 1st.

get a 351 save time money , the 302 block is exactly the same as the 351 block except for crankshaft ,rods. dont bore out more than 0.020 the clevos have got thin cylinder walls.

you can drop a 3.5" stroke Cleveland crank straight in there to make it a 351. In doing so, you would probably need to do a few top end mods to make the most of that conversion, e.g: 4bbl carb and manifold, cam, headers, uprated ignition system...maybe even a bit of head work...
If on a strict budget; a 4bbl carb and manifold and headers are a good place to start for your 302C |

Hi,i used to have a ZJ Fairlane i bought it stock with a 302 cleveland lsd and c10 auto.I painted it,lowered it,put a 3inch exhaust on it with standard headers,put a 650dp holley mechanical secondaries (spread bore-has the bigger secondaries)2inch carbi spacer,replaced the intake with a edelbrock 2V performer manifold,big K&N air cleaner poking out the bonnet.It went pretty hard especially when you tromp it.Used to spin the wheels easy.Might not have been a 351 but it went hard for a little 5L.
Well if thats not what you want you could try extractors and a free flowing exhaust.Bigger cam,bigger valves/port polish,crank and rods to make it 351,nitrous,gilmer drive to maket sounds even tougher.Theres some tings to get your heart pumping.. Hope that helps.

To convert to 351 you either need 351 heads, relieve the combustion chambers, or dished pistons.
Compression ratio is way to high other wise. Been there done that, I had the chambers relieved after uncontrollable pinging on LPG.
