I was resetting the ECU. I disconnected the negative terminal for a couple of hours. When I connected it again, I discovered the car has an alarm. I don't have the button to turn it off either. The previous owner never gave it to me. Is it safe to just cut all the wires to the siren? I need to be able to use my car today :(
Please help

i wouldn't cut the wires to the siren, as then it will still not start.
you need to work out what they've cut, or bypassed.
i ripped a whole system out, but still had to reconnect a couple of wires that were cut and joined.

I called the RAC. He cut a couple wires near the ignition. Then one near the siren. Then removed one plug from a relay. and fixed hehehe
Good thing is.. I can reattach the cables when I get the spare remote off the previous owner :)

Yeah once they got here only took us 15mins. I think he was more paranoid about showing me how to bypass it. I was trying to reassure him it was only for this car, not to steal others hahaha

I can cut out alarm systems - but seeing as you have already got the RAC man to do it I guess you don't need my services.... Wahhhh

not sure what the usual is ... can you buy off the shelf alarms and self install - ones that are reasonably decent?? or do they need to be done proffessionally ?

i am an auto-elec, but don't work on a great deal of cars. i can get hold of some alarm systems, and if i can't, a mate can.
just thought the smartlock circuit might play a part, but if not, all is good.
