Ok it's time to give the car interior a good clean.

What do you find does a good job?
Im talking seats, carpets, doors etc...

Is it safe/reasonable to soak the seats ie. pull them out and hit them with a high pressure system? or is that going a bit far? I tried hiring a Britex machine from Coles a while ago...it did a decent job in the house carpets, but didnt do a very good job on the car seats...

Also, I am about to paint the dash interior bits, air vents, climate control etc with a light grey similar to luna mist....I have white faced dials...what colour of dash surround ( the black bit that surrounds all the dials) would look good against the white? Bearing in mind I have a white XR6. I'm not sure of the grey would look good against the white?

I wouldn't go hitting your seats with a pressure cleaner! It will take forever for the foam inside to dry out.

I use Kitten foaming upholstery cleaner with some success.

Once a year I remove the front seats and shampoo the entire carpet.

You can pull the seat material off and then put it in a washing machine, the material is just clipped on with wire and comes off in 2 complete pieces (apart from EB/ED XR seats)
The back seat material probably wont fit in a machine but you could probably wash it by hand in the laundry tub or something.
