havent personally tested this.... probably not a great deal except for the noise and exhaust note.
Probably would attain an extra 5 even 15 fwkw but when put to the ground probably wouldnt notice...altho the extractors and larger exhaust will give abit of breathing headroom so good for future NA mods. The bigger exhausts systems from diflippo etc claim to make a huge difference for the 6 turbos so maybe a really good system could be a good oiption for you but personally i wouldnt spend to much on the exhaust/extractors setup it isnt really worth it.

In the ned mate a good exhaust system is well worth the difference not just for sound....its not a big performance boost but any future mods espescially big ones will always involve exhaust system changed espescially forced induction.

i read somewhere, that when they put extractors/cat/2.5in system on a ba, that it got 20kw more.
i wouldn't think it would be that much, but if it is, what a bonus!

i wouldn't think it would be that much, but if it is, what a bonus! Yeah ive seen BAs with full diflippos setups from extractors back get more than 20fwkw but yeah remeber putting that to the ground aint that bigger diff but would sound wicked and so much better breathing.

I think that the was the 3" setups for the xr6ts...the gains for 2.5" setups was round 15fwkw extra i think

i find that the main difference when zorst, xtractors are fitted is reponse, fit a filter cold air, and you'll be suprised at how much more responsive the thing is

yeah and nay in my opinion filters and exhaust systems along with air inductions mods arent as hyped up as people make them out to be....lets see someones quater mile time with and without a K&N filter or with a $300 ss induction system. on stock cars.. The performancr gain is minimal and if u say it feels more responsive well fair enough but id wanna see that one on paper. Sure these mods are great if you plan to really mod the performance of your ride and im not talking bout 2 grand. IMO the answer to your original post is - if thats the only mods u plan on doing any time soon then NO. If you arent to bothered by the performance gain but for making your engine more durable and last longer by allowing more breathing room ..keeping temps down just slightly and would like a beefier exhaust note like most of us then its money well spent. Also if you are serious bout modding in the future.

The BA six responds really well to minor modification. Even just decent extractors, cold air intake and a catback exhuast will make a noticable and well worthwhile improvement in not only performance but general drivability.

i spose what it comes down to Scott is you have to decide what you want out of you BA, show, go, or both!

Scott,
You won't beat WRX's, XR6T's or Gen III's, but you can look after stock 5L V8's pretty well. My best 1/4 mile time so far is 15.4 @90 mph (auto). A manual with good grip would probably sneak into the high 14's with these mods: XR6T intake snorkel $30+ K&N panel filter $140+ Pacemaker extractors $500+ 2.5 in system with straight through Redback muffler before the diff + Lukey resonator mandrel bent rear section (uses stock Cat) $600+ There is a fellow who has the above mods + the CAPA edit who does mid 14's out of a BA XT auto...

PS It was fnp who pulled the 14.4 in the XT:
