Pulled out my MAF sensor wires unit today, had a peek! ..
The damn first wire looked like sum1 had burnt their dinner around it !! it had a little caked on exterior, basically the short of it is the carby cleaner recomened across the forums didnt remove it, I had to use the old cotton bud to actually remove it! The bud came back with black spoldges on the head.. now thats some grime!! All should be OK now, just thought Id post up in case sum other newb like me is unsure.. Hopefully the car now runs better.. post up again tonight after I go to work.. thanks to the guys from my other thread for thier help. esp. EDXR8 for explaining it down for me . |

Tidy work, should make things run a bit smoother. How did the second wire look?
Do you run a performance air filter?

Both of my wires were same the same at one stage.. Car was pinging like hell, especially during the summer. Ford knew it was the MAF but wanted $1700 from mum for a replacement..

Carby cleaner with a cotton bud cuetip thing is definately the way to go. A lot of the time a slightly over oiled air filter with do it. Should run more accurate A/F ratios now = better economy!!!
