I have a factory EL manual. I was just wondering how many km clutches tend to last for. How do you know when they have gone?

it depends how you treat them.
the factory clutch lasted 180 000 in my xr6 the last ten is what killed it. (when i got it) i fitted a V8 brutes clutch to a customers XR8 and it lasted 10 000km because he drives it wrong. |

im pretty sure mine has done the 126,000km thats on the clock with the orig. clutch.
when i ran it down the 1/4, it was slipping into 3rd gear after the 3rd run, so it's due for a replacement in the near future.

same sorta thing as everyone else. I got the car and f**k the original clutch, had done 104,000. The car was slipping so bad it would take a good 4 minutes to get up 60km
But it was a good feeling jumping in it when it had the new one installed. Felt like a rocket

My EL is on the original clutch I would assume.
Had 101,000 when i bought it, done 144,000 now. I drive it hard, its been down the 1/8th mile more times than I can remember, and pulled some impressive stand stills, still going strong Even with its new found go go.
