hi guys and girls, i have a proplem, i want to know the best way to take the sump off a 3.9 ea? Do i have to take the motor out or is there another way around it. many thanks!

not sure but i think you take off the engine mounts and lift it up and you can slide the sump out.but i might be wrong ive done it to a xf and that how i did it. hope it helps.

or u can drop the K frame
its a bit of a C*** to do ive herd

it's a lot easier to remove the engine,,dropping the k frame is a pain unless you have access to hoist.

I believe someone said that you can remove the front bumper, air con, radiator, fan shroud, and then slide it forward from there? Not sure how accurate this is, might still need to raise the motor/drop the k frame.

i heard that as well,i think you still need to raise the engine so the sump goes under the crank at the back,,still a big job though..

If you removed the rocker cover it might get enough lift at the rear.

kiwi it aint an easy job,sometimes your better off paying some one to do,that way if they f**k it up they pay for it.
