It is harder on everything back of the tranny, tail shaft, diff, wheels, tyres... But I've had mine for several months now, no noticable damage, or extra wear. A tail lshaft loop is recommended.

ok i had a look at how to make a shift kit myself, seems pretty simple electronics really. But I'm pretty new to cars so can someone tell me where the ecu is, how to get to it, and what it looks like? any other info? I'm guessing once you get to it its pretty easy to locate the pins needed?

Fitted my shift kit today and it took a whole 30 mins including running adjustable switch inside center arm rest. Very easy to do and l cant wait to test it tommorow when l take the trailer off.

congrats, and take it easy you're first run. ie. don't take it right to redline your first go, get a feel for it, and be prepared to go sideways if the road is slippery. Once you've got the feel for it - it's great fun.

anyone from perth know where i can get the parts to make the kit? I tried d**k smiths they didn't have any 10 watt resistors. From reading 9psi EB's diagram I gather all I need is a 10 watt 18 ohm resistor, 10 watt 5.6 ohm resistor, some wire that can handle 5 amp load, and switch. does that sound right? with the switch it also says a SPDT switch - use 3 or 4 core cable to switch, whats that? sorry I'm trying to bring back my memory of electronics from school

Try looking for a Jaycar or Altronics shop - they're more 'electronics' than 'cheap a** computer' than d**k. 4 core cable is just a cable that has four wires in it. SPDT = single pole double throw a type of switch that has two circuits in it, but the switch swiches between both of them (so on eis on the other off, switch it, the first one is now off, the other on). Or if you're really stuck, Jaycar has an online shop which is pretty good service wise.

got all the parts i needed from some electrical store up in joondulup, total cost $10.70, fitted today and works great.

$120 delivered to my door for the whole kit with diagrams and instructions. Opted not to make it my self as his parts and wires are all top quality and l wouldnt want to stuff the computer for the sake of 120 bucks. Fully adjustable is great to just turn down in the wet but still have it change pretty hard.
