My 4.1 carby engine has a efi distributor in it with the hall effect unit in it!
Car runs fine but lacks power. My question is how do i set the timming on it and is this common?

the plug that goes into the TFI module has a single qire looped into the plug with another single pin connector in it, disconnect it, set the base ignition timing while the engine is idling, then re-connect it

thats the procedure for an EFI, its supposedly different for a carby.....

Later carby models have an electronic dizzy and a computer as well, called EST (electronic spark timing).
To set the timing you short the two pins in the white plug near the brake booster. Then loosen the bolt on the dizzy and turn it to change the timing as normal.
When your done don't forget to pull the shorting wire back out of the plug!!
