leave one battery terminal unplugged for 10 mins or so...

i fail to see why ten minutes are needed, if it's stored in likea RAM type memory it's erased as soon as it looses power.

I would guess that several minutes are needed to allow any capacitors in the electronics to fully discharge so there is no residual charge left in the system, which may prevent the RAM or whatever is used being reset properly. :|

Exactly it contains residual power so you need to leave it off for 10 mins to drian the residual power.

About reseting the ecu.... how does the fuel consumption and power go. if s**t roughly how long till i'll notice an improvement>?

just take ur posative terminal off and try to start ur car, this will reset it!
