hi
ive been doing a bit of a search on thermo fans and it has been mentioned that some guys use a volvo thermo fan instead of the ef one.
does anyone know what model volvo they are from
and where i can get them?????
i was going to use the ef/el ones but my radiator doesnt have the holes for the fans to bolt to...
i did the ef fan conversion to my eb xr8 and it works good .
but i also had to change radiator so now i have 2 radiators and both of them dont have holes for ef fans..
so i want to make use of the ea/eb radiators and use a fan from something else...
if the cost is to high i will have to bite the bullet and buy the ef radiator and fans......

thanks

You could make your own brackets, and mount them to the brackets. Else, i thought they were a 14 inch fan? Sketch off of thepurplecircle.com was arranging them before and put them into a few cars. I believe johno got some in his ed, sketch put them in his XY, and a few other cars.

hi
thanks
i will try a couple of wreckers. or if anyone knows of another car i can get thermo fans off . i use to have a valiant v8 and i brought a 16" davis craig fan it cost me about $280 and it worked a treat but it was quite noisy and a little on the pricey side..
so this time im going the cheap way... :)

the ecu's caught on fire. which is why i can get them cheap.
if you take out the ecu (4 screws i think) and throw it away, the fan stays on the highest speed.

I have been running one for ages now and havent had a problem.

As your EA radiator doesn't have the Captive Nuts in the tanks for the EF/EL fans, I have heard of people screwing the fan shroud into the top frame of the radiator core. You'd want to be careful though, don't want puncture the core.
