Not happy, went to my dads house and my car was parked in the driveway for a while and when i left (2hours or so) later i noticed a small pool of oil from my car

I had it checked ages ago and it was diagnosed as a leaking head gasket but i fail to see that, as the car has not lost performance or drivability..

My guess is that its the Oil pressure sender, as it seems to be coming from that area.

Im calling the mechanics on monday to get it booked in, so it can get fixed asap. Would it still be alrite to drive around or not? Obviously long trips are out of the question.

Thanks guys help and info would be great.. How much does it cost to get the leak fixed if its the oil pressure sender?

Cheers

Andrew

if it's the oil pressure sender, don't drive it, they bust out not long after they start leaking.

You were lucky the 2 I've seen go didn't leak, they gushed! High pressure oil straight out the side of the block.

Okay i have found out a little bit more info on this situation... Okay i did happen to top up the oil the other day and im pretty darn sure it was too much...so im guessing i have just dropped a heap of excess oil because the oil indicator mark still sits on over full

The two leaking marks are comming from the rear main area, plus one small leak coming from power steering rack  Nothing else.

My guess is the (head gasket ) or the oil pressure sender are leaking not only along the side of the engine but all the way under neath up until the rear main.

I cant see exactly where its leaks from but it stops at the two bolts on the rear main. :?

I have checked the oil levels all day and it still sits on the full mark mabe a bit over... Car is driving fine and the oil pressure still reads half way to 3/4 way and on idle it sits on the second stroke, which is normal (so i have been told).

Should i be worried still.?

Where could all this oil be comming from. I might book the car to get an engine steam clean or something.

Cheers

How paranoid are you! Get some degreaser on the engine and wash it off... take the car for a 10min drive and poke your head around and see if you can spot the leak.

An oil leak isnt going to kill your engine, get used to it, once they start to leak, more and more spot will come up leaking... ahhh cars are wonderfull.

I'm paranoid about my car! What with the potential costs involved when things go, "south" <- pardon the pun 8-)
I'm having issues with anything that has bearings in it at the moment.
This is the list of the eerie s**t thats going on:

Wheel bearings went 1 by 1 over say 12 months- All wheel bearing done.
Diff - overhauled.
Idler pulley bearings - replaced $30 bucks each.
Water pump bearings -Water pump Replaced.

[pending]

There is another hum/whine slowly coming up in volume. Mechanic says it's coming from around the power steering pump area. Could be more friggin bearings Arrgggggghhhh......

You're b**ch about oil leaks on a Ford?

When I bought my EL, I had to take it back to Ford because the engine had no oil leaks. I had it rectified properly and now it leaks around the front and rear mains and the rocker gasket.
