I have an ED Fairmont and am having problems with the Smartlock The cetral locking and Ignition work fine.
The proble is I purchased a new remote and when I go through the steps to program it the Smartlock will not go into learn mode and when the button on the dash is pressed the door locks just go up and down a number of times.

I was woundering if there was a way to reset the smartlock modul so it can be re programed or do I have to replace it.

if your doors are open your door locks will cycle 3 times before you can hit the button on the remote to program it.
have you tried it with your doors closed?

I have tried it both ways with doors closed as well as opened it has made no difference

its been a while since i have programmed an ED. have you just tried pressingthe button on the remote anyway after the locks start cycling?

It dose not seem to have any affect.
