Is there a modification document on this webiste for adding power seats to an NL Fairlane Ghia or EL Fairmont Ghia?

I have put power seats in my NA Fairlane before and that was just a "plug and play" procedure.

Yeah, its easy though.

Grab two central locking plugs from FTG or a wreckers. pUT POSITIVE PLUG FROM WRECKERS INTO POSITIVE WIRE OFF SEATS. dO SAME WITH NEGATRIVE. Then wire the negative to the handbrake bolts (obviously requires removal of seats). THen wire the positive to gray (? Pretty sure it was that when I did it) power window wire. Test it all, and trouble shoot if any isxsues. THats how I did mine.

You should make a modification link Quirky - sounds good on paper, but pictures and steps make it look more acknowledgable.

Being old cars, does it sound like the central locking when you move it? (tired and that). My dad's Magna electric seat is fantastic.

I don't think a doco is really necessary for this as it is very simple.

You don't have to go through the power windows as this only gives you a minute or so delay after ignition is turned off. You can wire it to constant with a fuse in the line so that you can adjust the seats at any time, which I reckon is a better option.

The movement of the seats are fairly quiet, definately nice to say you've got electric seats!!!

It would be wonderful to have power seats in the car - can you use your seats with DF or DL LTD electric runners to save money?

I still cannot believe the VT Calais had power seats for both front seats as standard - even the backs of the front seats were electric and the Fairmont Ghia had it as an option.

It would be easier to adjust your seat with the push of a button.

You can just retain the electric bases and change the LTD or ghia leather onto the base and seat back as they are just covers.

Remember that Fairmont Ghias were 6 way electric just with the bases and the LTD seats were 11 way with the back of the seat being electric

I wanted the 11 way power seats - damn it!

Can you get the LTD seats in grey?

If I replaced the front seats, the I would have to replace the rear seats too.

Too much work - we should get a document posted anyway.

The LTD's all had cappaccino interior. And yeah the seats are ribbed so you would have to change it if you wanted to keep the leather.

But I reckon you could put grey leather over the seat back and base from an LTD so you have 11 way electric seats but grey leather, not sure how the velour would fit on.

Tomorrow hopefully I am putting 11 way electrics in my LTD seats (made them manual cause I couldn't afford the electrics at the time of full cappa conversion) so i'll take some photos, might whip something quick up cause it's an easy process.
