As some of you guys may know I am trying to find the limits of power from a N/A E7TE & HO equipped 5.0 EL.
well some things may surprise some of you
the heads now flow 248cfm @ 28" , HO lower inlet now flows 237cfm while the HO upper plenum has made it to 231cfm ,all figures are of the lowest flowing port/runner but are within 7cfm of the others.
Inlet port volume is still low at 155cc ,and exhaust has 63cc.
faces ground by .015'' & combustion chambers modified to deshroud the STANDARD valves (apparently oversize will give more CFM at higher lift, but drasticly reduce lower lift #s ,resulting in the same average flow or LESS) the valves were treated to a 3 angle job with best flow found with19 deg then 25 deg .040 wide then 46 deg to seal with no more than 30-40 thou cuts, all different combos were tried but these were the best average flow up to .600'' lift.
have a look heres some of the bits during the project

Wow, looks like you've been into some heavy research there! Are there any programs that will help to aid in fluid dynamics in things such as inlet runners? If not, it might be an interesting field to get into!

Good work Kenny. Thats impressive flow considering the port size is still 155cc...

Hows the exhaust flow?

Any chance you can post the flow rates in .100" increments?

EX max flow @ 28'' 178 cfm ,the work started with the ex to determine how far to take the inlet ports
inlet @ .1'' 65cfm , .2'' 126cfm , .3'' 161cfm ,.4 189cfm, .5'' 206cfm .6'' 237cfm.
Due to the small volume on the exhaust ports, it is essential to keep them small, DO NOT GRIND THEM BIG even though it can be done ,it has dramatic results on low lift flow causing an imballance between in/ex ratios
The HO lower manifold can be transformed into a good flowing unit if you have the time/ patience to fix the bends in # 1&5, from the factory they only flow 150cfm while #8 flows 210cfm
EX flow chart.
.1'' 57cfm, .2''93cfm .3''128cfm, .4''151cfm, .5'' 163, .6'' 178cfm
the last step on the ex lowered the low lift flows a little, so it was determined to pull up before lowering avg flow
this project has been time consuming with aprox 100hrs gone into the heads alone, but good results were achived within 10 hrs
I would like to thank mouseporting for pointing me in the right direction from the beginning
cheers kenny

Good to see someone bucking the trend and not listening to the few who say E7s arent worth s**t. With time, effort and knowledge great things can be achieved. Well done Kenny.

Yes but its his own time..To be fair what would you [Kenny] charge to someone else's heads ??
Taking nothing away with what you've done..
Bloody nice job...

point taken, in a good way!, but now having knowledge on what neds to be done to get them to flow I WOULD reccomend doing some grinding if you have a spare set and not a lot of $$$$ to spend on flash units,
the Yanks wet over the E7's ,and and there is one bloke I communicated with that has actually propelled a 95 mustang N/A to a 11 sec pass with these units, he is now going to use TWIN T04 hairdryers and expects 600rwhp
But the time spent on my heads would cost in exess of $3000 if you had someone start from scratch (not knowing the ins & outs of this particular head)
I will post some pics l8er, as she is now on the road not yet tuned or timed & flies, f**k flies to be more accurate.
It was good to see the posative opinions on the project, if anyone wants advice or whatever? on getting these things going, don't hesitate to ask I have no secrets to hide
and yes dyno results will be in the near future!

That's awesome kenny! There is a bit of info floating around on popular mustang sites about working these heads yourself. Results are great but as stated, only really worth it if time is the only input required.

Just imagine what you'll be able to do to a set of gt40s or aftermarkets ;)

Gtech claims 276hp with 0-100 in 6.12 sec, still not tuned yet but needs better extractors as these are 4-1 unknown brand and the pipes are only 1,1/2'' and very restrictive.
as for porting sites look up http://www.cmc.net/~xero/Mousesporting.html
this helped me s**t, and has GT40P mods too!

Top flow figues from the E7TE's.

Its goof to see somone get in and get their hands dirty instead of throwing $2500-3500 at AFR or TrickFlow. Sure AFR205's would out flow these heads without trying but doing it this way you know exactly what to do when it comes time to port out some yatesC3 heads :).
