I've got a STD EF, with what I can only guess is a 3.23:1 Single spinner.

With all the mods I've done (everything but the cam, see below list), would my car benefit from going to a 3.45:1 or 3.7:1 LSD?

I can feel that my engine has opened up more with my intake & exhaust mods, but the car itself is still a little sluggish (except when I put my foot down with Auto shift kit switched on!)

A higher geared diff would HAVE to make the car more responsive, right?

Any feedback (even if it's only to tell me to piss off for posting the millionth thread on Diff's) ...would be appreciated!

Piss off this is the millionth thread on diffs.

HAHAHA

Seriously I'd just stick with a 3.45. You get to keep economy then on freeways. If you dont do much freeway work then go a 3.7.

LOL, thanks mate!

My car's my 'weekend warrior' now I have a company car, but I still think 3.45 to be sensible.

By the way, nice bevy of cars in your gallery dude, which is your baby?

Any recommendations as to which diff people I should approach here in Perth?

Ta mate ...this is all good.

So if I put a 3.45 in, I should expect a noticable difference, RIGHT?

Should do. I'd try http://www.wadiff.com.au/ or http://www.northsidetrans.com.au/

Yeah owned all those cars at one point. Current ride is the EL XR8.

Rapier I managed to sell the Fairmont so now I'm down to the two XRs. 6 for the missus and 8 for me.

I can recommend the 3.08 to 3.45 upgrade.
Not only jumpier off the line, but nicer around town to, uses 1st gear less.
A slight trade off in economy (for my heavy foot, about .5 - 1l/100km), but definately worth it.
If you can get hold of a disc to disc 3.45 diff, the swap is fairly easy to do yourself.
2 men with the car up on stands, a couple of jacks for lifting the diff, and a welding gas trolley thing to move diff around, can get it done in a half day easily.

i went 3.08 to 3.7, definatly gave it some cookie! all the gears are much more usable, 2nd has alot more pull to it, same with 3rd. Sits on bout 2400rpm on the freeway at 100km/h. Went well with the cam i have anyhow!
