Hi, I have a AU falcon with a TS50 kit fitted (see gallery) I was thinking of fitting King Springs Superlows.....what is the legal height and where is in measured from as the front spoiler sits low. Are King spring any good? Any recommendations?
Thanks, Brad

no sure bout nsw, but in vic:
no part of the car must be lower than 100mm from the ground must retain at least 2/3 of the bump stop travel ie- if youve got 3" bump stop travel from fact. then you can only lower it an inch to meet the 2/3 min the car must sit level on all four corners there are a few more but thats all i can think of for now

That's the only 'legal' requirement, the rest are to do with insurance.

Even if to achieve this the car was droped onto the bumpstops at all 4 corners. dont think so |

a coke can must fit under all the car.. this is the same size object that the coppers use to try and defect you..

anyone measured a coke can recently? they arent 100mm.....
the legal requirement is 100mm to the lowest part of the car (not including unsprung components such as suspension, diff, etc), and 9at least in qld anyway) the car must maintain 2/3rds of original bumpstop clearance

Cops use a coke can because if that hits they know the car is well under 100mm, as they have a diameter of less than that. Plus its something that they always have handy after washing down their donuts.
You must retain atleast 2/3's of you suspension travel from vehicle ride position to the bump stops. The 100mm is specified for when the can is fully loaded as well.

I misread that in nanna_eds post.

seriously to retain driveability don't ever go lower than an inch. When I requested and in i got 2" and then front of the car kept hitting everything and it s**t me esp as the rear was raised with extra leaves for work. Now I have stock front height with slight raise at rear due to 1 tonner springs I found at pinch a part. This is the top mod for wagons... $30 heavy duty rear end No more cruched mudflaps, exhaust etc and bonus handling improvements. Also if you upgrade the rear shockies dont use the rubbers that come with monroe GT's as they are too small and fall apart. You have to use the originals. I will set up a doco with photos etc soon.
