Lately as we have been having very hot days in Sydney I have noticed that the temperature on the car does not go past, the A on normal. This is even with the aircondtioning running. Before christmas I had 4 people in the car and it was a hot day with the aircon running and the temperature sat near the top of the A.

When i did my head gasket i changed the coolant, thermostat, and cleaned the radiator with one of those radiator cleaners but flushed it out properly. Could this be the reason that it is not showing any higher temprature??, maybe the cooling system is working extemely efficiently.

I think that something is wrong with it at the moment.

Any ideas????

i've got a water leak in my EF atm, sop the water level is constantly low. i gave it a good run yesterday in the 38 deg's with air con on flat out and it didn't go above the middle of the M. this is in a car with very little coolant, mainly water. nothing's wrong with yours - it's all working well. A to L is the normal temp for the EF/EL's, so on a hot day top of A should be fine.

Dont worry... Its just working like it should.

Mine never really gets past the M no matter how hard I work the car. This weekend, Melbourne had a both days 40+ degrees. Sat was a cruise with the aircon running all day in convoy, no problems. Sunday was towing Jetkski down to the ramp with aircon on all the way, once again no problem. Sat at the higher part of the A.

If your cooling system is in good shape, these cars run a pretty good constant temperature, regardless of the weather.

I havn't even needed my thermos yet!
As long as I'm not stopped for over 2 minutes the car keeps cool even without them. I'm happy.

on the old eb, the temp dial never changed, i got worried about it, and took it to mechanic... it was the needle getting stuck, or something like that, it was a few years ago.. so could possibly be getting stuck, as he said it was a common problem with the fords, although i have never heard of it on any of the cars my mats and family cars..

On the A is where mine sit no matter wether I flog it on the track or tow my caravan, also sits there if I just cruise. a well regulated cooling system should always do the same  :P

42degrees in Melbourne yesturday, I was towing our camping trailer much of it up & down hills. On the odd occasion the temp crept up to between the R & M but mostly it sat at the A. I'm certainly not worried about the temp climbing slightly, its exactly what I would expect on such a hot day towing a load. Also proves my needle isn't stuck.

it got to 47 here in ceduna 2 days in a row i drove my car aorund for half an hour to test out the cooling sysytem and even stopped idling for a while in the sun the engine temp read around 89 to 94 . so i think my cooling system is up to scratch. as i have the ghia do they have a better radiator like the tazi's do? cos it would explain why it works so well.
