I am wanting to watch DVDs and listen to MP3s etc using my premium ICC screen in my BA Falcon.
I understand that using an Xbox is the best/easiest way to do this.
I am an Xbox newby, I don't even own one so an in the market to buy one as well.
Have any of you guys done it?
What modchip do you recommend?
Is the Xbox noisy (ie fan noise), would it be annoying if mounted under the front passenger seat?
Any other hints/tips would be great..

Check out this website for a mod chip.
http://www.modsupplier.com/catalog/xbox ... p-119.html
and if you go to a place like Stathfield car sound, they should be able to help you install it.
Also you could try a Google search for( how to install a xbox in a ba falcon )

cheapest modchips are $32, they work realy well. fan speed is controllable and can be made virtualy silent. would work very well with a wireless controller or something...completely invisble install (cept the screen)

quite a good idea for a multimedia center!

Well, this isn't all that easy.

Firstly you'll need to locate a 12V Power Supply for the XBox. I just found this one: http://www.techbuy.com.au/products/4513 ... dapter.asp

And the next bit will be to figure out how to integrate your Video into the ICC. There are companies that do this for you (Such as ASL Logics at http://asllogistics.com/dvd_factory.html).

Otherwise you could try it yourself with this kit, which is what I'm planning to do: http://www.converters.tv/products/conve ... rs/43.html

Purchase an invertor I recommend a pure sine wave version hat way its supplied almost a perfect wave of current.....these are anywhere from $300 for a cheap one and then up from there. Fan noise from the xbox is pretty quiet more so if u get a custom enclosure made up i dont really hear mine espescially when the sound is turned up playing a gam or watchin movie. For the xbox itself most place will fit a modchip and all the software for round $70+...if your xbo requires it like ll the lear ones the original black ones only need to be flashed which is normally round $40 or less with everything. You will need a bigger storage drive or hard disk drive (HDD) to stick ya mp3 etc on id recommend anywhere from 120gb+ these are round $100 at the computer fairs even te 300gbs now can be purchased for like $220+. Then you only need the visual and audio cabling for however you are wanting to connect this.
