changed leads spark plugs cleaned out fuel system and injectors checked
fuel pressure and was at 80 psi when i turned the ingnition on is that about right or could my return valve be blocked or fuel pressure to high? |

From memory 30-45 psi was around the acceptable "Engine Running" fuel pressure for the 5.0 maybe its bit high.

Yep way to high, but I wouldn't have thought it would cause surging or stalling, but then again I have never seen 80psi, I wouldn't have thought it could get that high.

Yeah as said, 80psi is way too high, wouldnt think the factory fuel pump would be able to push that much pressure. I would check the pressure readings again to make sure but if for some reason (only obvious reason I can think of is a stuffed regulator) it is running at 80psi then that would make the engine run rich which will cause bad drivability, stalling, surging etc.

Std fuel presure on V8s is 38 Lb..Just raising fuel presure 2 or 3 lb makes alot of difference at idle...

With the vac line on it will be around 32-34psi but with the vac off it should be around 38psi.

i had the EEC looked at today 1 error code came up map/bap sensor
fault .on the eb should there be vacuum hose or not? |
